What is the "PTA"?

The PTA (Parent-Teacher Association) is a volunteer organization whose focus is on improving education, health, and welfare of students and families in our public schools and communities.

Becoming a PTA member is the first step in showing support for our school. This money goes directly to enhance our school programs. When you are a PTA member you have voting rights as to how the money we raise is spent. We have some excellent PTA volunteers and we have so much to look forward to.

What our PTA does for our school

With state and federal monies dwindling, the PTA at Fern is able to step up to help continue the school programs that mean so much to the students at Fern Drive. The PTA pays for the Math and Music program which is available to all students in 2nd-5th grade, Science On the Go, and the All the Arts Program. The PTA pays for student field trips (excluding outdoor education) which includes bussing and entrance fees. The PTA also puts on movie nights, school dances, and other community events throughout the year.
